Dark roasted, caramel, dry molasses, brown sugars. The mint is there, round and intense. The beer is very smooth and the mint makes it round and very refreshing. Long chocolate mint but very dry aftertaste. Great.

Black color with small beige head. Minty-chocolaty aroma, basically after eight. Taste is rather sweetvmilk chocolate and mint. Works out much better than I had expected. Soft carbonation.

Dark brown color, big cloudy brownish head, lace.Strong mint aroma with some caramel and yeast, sourness and vegetables. Medium-bodied. Mint, light chocolate and then tartness. Maybe hints of infection. Mint and beer don’t work.

0.33l bottle @ Baran. It looks as good as black in this glass. I think a bright brown ale would look black in this lightning, but as far as I can see this is deep and dark black in color. The nose is light sweet and, medicinal and herbal with traces of chocolate. It has a soft almost creamy light oily mouthfeel and it's below average on the carbonation level. The taste is kinda spicy in a way. I get licorice, leather, roasted malts and it's loaded with herbs in the finish! A different one indeed, but it's not directly bad either. 26.07.2013

330ml bottle. Black colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Explicit mint aroma, cautious dark malty background. Taste is initially pure mint with a minimally soapy touch, mint bubblegum, later slightly more integrated with a dry dark malty touch. Nice auspicious idea but too much mint without reconciliatory counterweight. Needs improvement.

Bottled (thanks Bov!). Deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is mint, some mild toasted notes, mild burnt stuff as well as some slight spicyness. Flavour is slightly sour, some burnt notes as well as strong mint. Not very nice.

Bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, as Black Stout Menthe, 5.2% ABV
Dark brown color with medium sized head. Mild aroma of chocolate and mint; a bit dusty, not like a true After Eight. The mouthfeel is quite dry; roasted malt flavor, a bit too ashy and dusty, coffee, with a mint-herbal touch; quite strong bitterness, a good share of it form the roasted malts.
I would like to see the mint with a more chocolatey beer than this coffeish one; not too bad anyway.
