Bottle. Pour a deep burgundy-purple with a pink head. Aroma is like berries and grains. The taste is like sour berries. Pretty good beer.

Keg at ORB, Darlington. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of smoke, currants, tangy sour funk. Taste is toffee, more currants, sour and wood. Light smoky sour finish. Very nice.

Thx to Andreas Z. for this bottle. Black-reddish, opaque color with a tan-reddish head. Nose is Smoky-fruity with red berries. Taste follows the nose. Nice combination of fruity taste and a bacon style smoky flavors. Nice.

Bottle. A- Currants, smoke. A- Dark purple red color, dark liquid, light pink head. T- Currants, wet wood, mild herbal bitterness. P- Medium body, thin texture, flat carbonation, slightly unbalanced finish. O- Interesting brew. Seems to be some smoke on the nose but it also might be the Ardbeg 10 scotch I drank before this. It felt like I was drinking from a rain soaked log from last night's campfire and it was oozing berry syrup. No idea at all what that even means but that is this beer.

# 500; 10/2016. Výrazný, plný, ochucený pivo. Krásná černočervená barva se sytě růžovou pěnou. Vůně lehce uzená, výrazně černý rybíz, tóny červeného vína. Chuť černého rybízu s kořenitou hořkostí.

Bottle. Interesting aroma, slightly funky, fruity, and malt, dough. Taste is fruity, red and black currant, light sourness, caramel. Can't feel the booze. Caramel. Strange but nice.

500ml bottle [10% abv]. Hazy, dark brown colour with crimson glimmer and small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Minimally smoky, roasty, dark malty and fruity aroma, notes of blackcurrant, a touch of chocolate and green wood. Taste is tart, fruity and roasty dark malty, notes of blackcurrant, dark chocolate, woody and minimally smoky overtones, a slightly nutty touch, fruit acid, well hidden alcohol. Well balanced, refreshing tartness, good drinkability.

0.5 l bottle from 'Vormann Brauerei', 2015 vintage at 10% abv, cellared for three-and-a-half years. Clear, ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, fairly fruity aroma of lots of blackcurrant, elderberry and a touch of caramel. Moderately sweet, a bit malty, minimally oxidized, gently sour and quite fruity taste of massive blackcurrant, elderberry, some caramel and hints of molasses, followed by a medium long, gently tart, moderately dry, a bit oxidized and just minimally smoky finish. Medium body, slightly astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice, but the great base beer is pretty much hidden behind the berries. I prefer the standard version.
