In the beginning, there was an innovative West Coast brewer by the name of Pete, who developed a wicked-good & ground-breaking beer that became known as the defacto-standard American Brown Ale. It boasted an abundance of specialty malts & Brewer's Gold hops to create a great taste previously which was unbeknownst to mankind. Now, together with Pete we have created Re-Re-Pete 3X as a triple version (!!!) to pay homage to the innovative energy of American brewers, & deliver a great historic beer to true beer lovers!

Can, 0.25l. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, dried fruit, herbs and liquor. Pours cloudy dark brown color with thin creamy cappuccino-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet and rich toasted malty and caramelly, following is dried fruity, herbal and woody, mouthfeel is warm and spicy, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. 3x hoppy, 3x malty and 3x joyful...

Can from Craftshack. Pours clear, but dark, mahogany with a nice light tan head. Aroma is floral with some roasty malt. Maybe heat in the nose. Med plus body. Flavor is not dry. Very floral. Roasty in an extremely tasty way. Heat of course. Not exactly bitter, but the whole thing tends to tamp down the malt. Almost pastry dessert on one level. This is perhaps one beer you should make every effort to obtain. Super tasty. Excellent.

Rare when I'm absolutely perplexed by a beer, but I'm not sure what to think of Re-Re-Pete. That it bares no trace of my beloved Pete's Wicked Ale (RIP) is a given, but I have no clue what it resembles, to be honest. Lots of toffee and caramel, but with an unexpected tropical orange undercurrent, plus a little cocoa, tobacco, and a lingering pine bitterness on the finish. Weird as hell, but also very sippable, especially for a 15.6% behemoth. Can't say I love it, but if this is as close as I can get to a Pete's these days, I'll take it.

A mini can that came my way in a stout mixer from Tavour. I have saved this one for the end because it was the most interesting. 8 oz that will be poured into my Great Heights snifter. Caramel color with a mostly non existent head. Nice smell with some sorghum, cane syrup and grain. Potent initial impression, a burn for sure. Toasty malts, karo syrup, wet hay and toffee. Some unusual tang to it in the background. Okay but less than anticipated.

I dig the smaller can but wish it was a short can instead of thin can, but still better than 16oz. Nice brown ale booze sipper, warms yah up, malty finish that doesn't linger. Would be dangerous in any sort of larger can.
