Barley Wine - Barley Autumn Out of Production
Score
8.09
ABV: 14.0% IBU: - Ticks: 14
Anabasis is our Barleywine that was brewed with American malts and hops, but fermented with a strong English Ale strain to provide rich toffees, fruity hops, with a strong leathery, caramel backbone. Bourbon and vanilla showcase the roundness of 27 months of aging in some of our favorite bourbon barrels.

For the 5th blend, Anabasis was put into oak on October 8th of 2018 where it rested in Blanton's and Weller 12 Year barrels. After 27 months, we chose a blend which consisted of 38.4% aged in Blanton's and 61.6% aged in the Weller 12 Year.

750mL bottle at the Brewery, 1/16/25.
Clear, very dark. No head.
Sticky toffee, moderate black pepper. Sweet and toffee with more peppery caramel and creme brulee. No booze.
Sticky, juicy, sweet, full of caramel and moderate lead and black pepper. Again it's a bit bafflingly sweet, even for its age, and the pepper is intense. I just don't know about this series yet....

murky brown color. No head. Burnt raisins, caramel, burnt molasses, brown sugar, bourbon, chocolate, sweet nose with decent fuel character. Sweet as hell, tons of brown sugar, raisin, molasses, cherries, leather, tobacco and bourbon. Fucking amazing. It has all the components of every barley wine ever made. Sweet bourbon finish. Ultra complex. Amazing.
