Anabasis is our Barleywine that was brewed with American malts and hops, but fermented with a strong English Ale strain to provide rich toffees, fruity hops, with a strong leathery, caramel backbone. Bourbon and vanilla showcase the roundness of 27 months of aging in some of our favorite bourbon barrels.
For the 5th blend, Anabasis was put into oak on October 8th of 2018 where it rested in Blanton's and Weller 12 Year barrels. After 27 months, we chose a blend which consisted of 38.4% aged in Blanton's and 61.6% aged in the Weller 12 Year.

750ml bottle. Soft, complex and heavy with barrel notes, vanilla, bourbon, figs, prunes, plums, toffee, syrup and mild roastiness. Quite complex and heavy.

Bottle massive thanks to BillyT et al. The aroma is rich roasted, unctuous, oily, sticky, toffee, burnt toast, fudge, vanilla, toffee, candy, bourbon, salt water taffee, cacao, charred wood and earth. The taste is slick, oily, chewy, toothy, earthy, toffee, fudge, oak, earthy, warming alcohol, milky chocolate, oak, toasty, bourbon, salted caramel, dried fruits, maltesers, toothy and a touch of alcohol warming with a slick finish. Fulsome body and moderate carbonation. Impressive thick barley wine.
