Pours clear gold into a shaker. No head. Sweet with rye and whiskey aromas. Sweet with apple pie upfront turning to mild rye in the medium length finish. Sweet indeed.

On tap at Schilling Cider House - Seattle, pours a hazy blonde, no head. Nose brings out light earthy rye, with some whiskey barrels, and sharp, dry, acidic apples. Flavour is intensely complex, with lots of dry, acidic apples, apple skins, oak, and earthy rye. Complex and well-balanced. Excellent.

12oz single from City Swiggers. Ommegang anniversary glass. Sparkling, pale yellow gold body. Smells of melon, pears & vinegar. Very faint whiskey in the back. Taste is a similar, but better. Half sour, tangy & sweet apples, orange(?), salt, lightly funky yeasts, & faint, very faint whiskey essence. Slightly slick & fuzzy on the tongue. Interesting. Appreciate the lower abv on a barrel-aged brew.

Can, as pictured. Mead? No way, its apple cider and a pretty good one at that. Look is bright pale cloudy fast liquid. Smell is apple positive cleaning fluid, certainly volatile metallic alky in nature. Sterile apple alcohol! Hehehe, yeah. First off, it hides its alky well. Has a very good tart sensation without any of that gag reflex so common in dry domestic ciders, yes, almost quite enjoyable. Sharp carbonation. Goes down with a quick thin body and carries a pretty good alky punch for its rating here. My can says 6.5% and you'd never know. Has to be one of the better friendly catch a buzz ciders I know! Pretty good real apple cider, more like the old country, not like the original sugary domestic wannah beez. Yes, quite crisp to the finish, even has some of that vinegar bite in the end that leaves you wanting.

12 oz can shared by a friend, thanks Tyler! Clear shiny golden color. Aromas of apples, wine, champagne. Tastes of apples, honey, caramel. Light body with a dry finish. Don't really get the rye whiskey, maybe some faint notes.

Draft in a Tulip at The Barley House (North Country). Color is yellow with a slight haze. Low carbonation level. Aroma Is apple juice and mild rye whiskey. Flavor has subtle rye whiskey flavor underneath the apple cider. Like wood. Good balance. Much better than I was guessing it would be.

Thank you for sharing tderoeck! Sampled draft @ VCBF 2017. Clear orange, small white head. Nose is interesting sour barrel, tropical fruit, darker bread funk,... Taste is sour rye bread, huge sour grape, lovely funk, ceral, puckering oak, really interesting, expected a higher score on here. Interesting malts, good funk, sour with bit fruit. Really nice, bread & sour wine body.
