355ml bottle (bottled 06/04/2018) from Prik&Tik Kampenhout. F: big, egg-white, good retention. C: deep gold, hazy with yeasty debris. A: tropical fruits, rum, pine, lychee, orange, tangerine, orange wine if such thing exists. T: medium malty backbone, mellow tangerine, mango, lychee, rum alcohol aftertaste, bit woody tannins, medium body and soft carbonation, fresh mosaic hops and rum BA is probably not the best idea but not such disaster all together, enjoyed but I would not buy this beer again.

From the bottle. Orange with visible floaters. Nice frothy head that lingers for the duration. Aroma is rum, rum, rum with orange and tropical fruit undertones. Reminds me of the rum cocktails from college days. Taste is bitter, full of rum, warm at the end. Overall too much barrel on this one. Not unpleasant if you don’t mind rum, but the underlying ipa is M.I.A.

Draught at Paddle and Peel. Very vinous aroma. Almost old-smelling. Cloudy yellow colour. A lot lighter than I expected. The flavour is also very vinous, but only slightly old-tasting. Has some bread and vanilla. Smoked whiskey notes. Orange finish. Interesting.

Poured from the tap at St Augustines. Hazy golden yellow with white head. Rum and soapy hops. Unfortunately, an awful blend. The hops probably aren’t actually soapy, but the rum makes it seem like it is.

opalescent orange to amber colour, medium sized creamy yellowish off-white head; aroma of pine resiny notes, some mango, lemongrass, caramel, biscuits and rum notes; bittersweet taste with the same notes as can be felt in the aroma...with intensive alcoholic rum dominance - well, it's a bit too much for me

Extremely boozy, and that's putting things mildly. Rum, spices, caramel, dried fruit, alcohol. 3.2

I am a sucker for anything barrel-aged, particularly something different than the ubiquitous bourbon barrel Imperial stouts. But I am frequently disappointed. This offering from Founders is one more to add to that list.
