fiery red color. Nice spicy hop, strawberries and oranges in the nose. Fairly dry firm bitterness, clean, very spicy hops with medicinal finish. Good depth. Love the mix of spicy hops and medicinal character.

Maybe slightly minty but not as wild as I was lead to believe. Maybe it has mellowed

I heard very conflicting takes on this one… Baeren Innovation Red Lager Shinsu Wase Dry Hopping 5.5% Deep reddish brown in color with a dense thick beige head of foam. On cracking the bottle I got a whiff of mint, in the glass I got bitter brown sugar biscuit with a hefty herbal hop dose. The first impression was mint, herbal spice and even some orange citrus with complimentary malt support. As you drink the bottle you get this herbal medicine bitterness that builds up especially in the finish. Starts strong but finished just so so.

Bottle from the brewery, mail order. Grassy, herbal and resinous hop nose, caramel malt, licorice, dark chocolate. This hop doesn't help the beer. Dark brown with orange tints and a tall, off-white head. Resiny, herbal, minty, grassy hop flavor clashes with the malt, imo. Nothing like the first two. Crisp body, lively carbonation, more like a Cascadian dark, I suppose. I have never really been impressed with Shinshu Wase, and I figure it almost ruins this nice beer.
