Enga Ikizere - meaning "brewing hope" in Kinyarwanda - is an encapsulation of our growing partnership with Rwanda Bean Coffee. Their dedication to delicious coffee and building community is an inspiration to us. The recipe features their Ikizere roast coffee, added on to a complex and roasty brown ale dreamt up by our brewers after a visit to the Rwanda Bean roastery.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark brown color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: coffee roastiness, sweet earthy tones, some grassy tones & some caramel malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to roasty quality; finishes roasty and sweet through coffee and some earthiness
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable, some smoothness but also some coffee tones trying to nick the tongue a little bit, good carb level
Overall: nicely done coffee brown ale I could come back to.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a chestnut brown with a finger of beige head that dissipates. Coffee, chocolate and caramel aromas on the nose. Very drinkable on the palate. More coffee with a touch of vanilla and chocolate. Very drinkable coffee brown.

16oz can pours a translucent brown with some creamy gray head. Nose is nice, coffee grounds, roasted nuts, toasted malts, earthy wood bark. Flavor has caramel and some cream soda, then sweetend coffee, dry roasted almond, almond paste too. This is like a black cup of coffee with an almond croissant. Finishes dry, nutty, roasty and real easy to drink.

16 oz. can. Aroma is roasted nut, mild earth and a lot of coffee bean. Flavors follows with a touch of sweetness in the finish. Body is about medium with a dry roasted texture. Enjoyed this a good amount.
