A barrel-aged stout conditioned on toasted organic coconut and cocoa nibs. It is incredibly smooth and full-bodied for a mid-strength stout with just the right hit of coconut and cocoa. This beer joins the company of our Erebus and Terror Imperial Stouts, as Neptune was the name of the dog that was brought along on the ill-fated Franklin Expedition.

2024 edition. 473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate dark tan head. Aromas of creamy chocolate, a bit of vanilla, coconut and slick roasted malts. Aromas of dry coconut, nutty chocolate and roasted malts. Not getting any barrel effects, and not well very well integrated with dry coconut taking over. OK

16oz shared with Phill @ Ryan's. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: rosehip berries, barrel. Taste: along the same lines, more on the thin side. Moderately sweet. Finishes with light roasted malt bitterness. Overall: ok.

473mL can, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out lots of cocoa nibs, a touch of coconut, and relatively timid bourbon barrels. Flavour is full of big bourbon barrel notes, followed by coconut, cocoa nibs, and a touch of dark fruits. Really nice bourbon and coconut notes, with a solid roast base. Impressive, especially for a Yukon brew.

Dark brown, medium head. The coconut is fairly big here, with nice chocolate, rich malts. Some alcohol comes in late for balance, especially bourbon. Good balance, the richness provides a base for the coconut and then the barrel finish rounds it out.

473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, short lived, brown head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, earth, bourbon and oak. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, cocoa, caramel, coconut, vanilla and oak in a dry, bourbon warming finish. Medium to full body with a sticky, creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty and easy to drink. ABV is well hidden.
