Say hello to Luna & Fuego’s little cousin…
Just like our barrel-aged Luna & Fuego, we started with a whopping imperial stout with cocoa, cinnamon and vanilla, then spiked it with a trio of chilies – sweet ancho, tangy guajillo and smoky chipotle. We’ve transferred a bunch of this beer to tequila barrels for a long sleep (see you in winter Luna & Fuego V2!) but for now you are in good company with Fuego - it’s unoaked, unaged, all sorts of fun and ready to drink now.
The beer pours a thick, viscous black. The vanilla and cinnamon lend notes of horchata, while the cocoa and chili marry to create a decadently sweet and lingering spicy flavour.
Did we mention it’s smooth? Ridiculously so.

355ml can. Pours an opaque murky brown with a thin, fizzy, short lived, tan head that fully dissipates. Sweet aroma of chocolate malt, caramel, cinnamon, vanilla and light booze. Sweet flavour of chocolate malt, caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, booze and a hint of smoke in a dry, mild bitter, spicy chili pepper finish that lingers. Full body with a sticky, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. ABV is well hidden. Pretty solid, but I am already looking forward to the barrel aged version.

Darkish brown, with some murk, a bubbly medium head. Light sugars, a touch of fruitiness, on the palate it’s got cinnamon, lots of fruitiness, maybe a touch of chocolate. Decent but the spices are covering up some flaws no question.
