To create this new style of Japanese Special Bitter with Kyoto Brewing Co. we used traditional British malts of Golden Promise, crystal and amber malt with a twist of buckwheat and puffed brown rice to achieve a nutty maltiness. El Dorado and Cascade hops give a rounded stone fruit and orange aroma to compliment the malt backbone.

Tap at the Canalhouse, Nottingham. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, floral hops. The flavour is over moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, malt, metallic aromatic, floral hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

11/1/2022. Can sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours clear pale copper gold with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, bread, orange marmalade, biscuit, stone fruits, nutty edge. Moderate sweetness, nice spicy bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Enjoyable.

Panda 🐼 at home thanks to SHIGdiddy. A clear amber orange coloured pour with a lasting loose beige head. Aroma is nice spicy douglas fir , pine, wintergreen, brandy snap sgars, orange peel, Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rounded, malts, nutty, spicy pine, orange peel , cinnamon, dried fruits, Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. well rounded.

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 21/12/21. Clear golden copper with a good sized white covering. Nose is biscuit, orange peel, straw, sweet malts, light breads, light perfume. Taste comprises candied orange peel, citric tinged straw, grains, orange marmalade, soft malts, light breads, floral notes. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, light drying close spiked with balanced light juicy hop bitterness. Solid strong bitter albeit heavily hopped for the style.

Can: Poured a coppery orange with a white color creamy head. Aroma is fruity perfume, hoppy, stone fruit, citrus, orange, malts. Taste is fruity, light bitter hops, citrus, malty, some edginess in the finish.

440ml can. Clear golden amber, small off-white head. Aroma is malty, nutty, caramel, marmalade. Taste of nutty grainy malts, caramel, marmalade, citrusy hops, crisp, bitter. Medium bodied. Really nice ESB.
