Adventurer is a dark ale with a rich malty backbone. We've used Lionheart from 2016 (one of our best received monthlies ever) as a template but made a couple of changes. We've lowered the bitterness, added more dark malt and used a more traditional British hop. The result is somewhere between a classic British dark ale and a porter with flavours of roast malt, caramel and stewed fruits. Perfect if you've just come in from the cold.

Cask at the Rebellion taproom. Poured a clear dark chestnut colour with a short-lived, frothy, tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, woody hops. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, light sweet, with a rich, malty, earthy, light liqourice bitter, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at the brewery. An attractive dark reddish chestnut colour with a loose beige head; simple malty aroma; fruity malt taste, with some caramel and citrus; then a light woody bitterness. A nice malty bitter.
