Cask at the Rebellion taproom. Poured a clear dark chestnut colour with a short-lived, frothy, tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, woody hops. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, light sweet, with a rich, malty, earthy, light liqourice bitter, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at the brewery. An attractive dark reddish chestnut colour with a loose beige head; simple malty aroma; fruity malt taste, with some caramel and citrus; then a light woody bitterness. A nice malty bitter.

Cask at the Bootlegger, 03/03/17. Chestnut brown with a well appointed beige cap. Nose is biscuit malts, dark fruit rinds, raisins, toffee, whisper of brown bread. Taste comprises mellow fruit rinds, biscuit, light cocoa sprinkle, sweet malts, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light bittering edge. Decent cask brown ... easy session drool.
