Shared bottle at RB/HD on board Fridtjofen at Havnedagene in Haugesund 17.08.19. Has been stored for over 25 years. Excellent aroma and taste of sherry, port, rasins and corrints. Corrints and rasins are lingering on. Absolutely superb!

Sampled from a bottle this mead poured a very pale yellow color with a trace soapy white head that faded instantly. The aroma was sweet with sugar, tannin, pear and a harsh boozy note. The flavor was sweet and tangy with sugar, pear, apple and a bit of tannin. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth.

Bottle at the discover mead event at Beerlovers Bar. Pours extremely light, almost watter. Not much scent. taste is rather dry. very, very mild honey funk. Not sweet. More of a dry, herby kinda drink.

175ml glass from St Peter’s Ale House, Bedford. Light yellow, the colour of white wine. Flat. Slightly sour spicy smell. Hint of potpourri. Full sweet taste; it has a nice boozy kick. Thick mouthfeel. Sour orange peel, nutmeg and honey aftertaste. Grows on me. Quite nice.

Bottle kindly donated by my daughter, who brought this from Holy Island. Clear very pale golden color, no head. Light aroma of honey, vine. Sweet honey taste with grape. hints of vanilla, sharp alcohol. Unusual but enjoyable.

350ml bottle given as a gift from the island - Amber body, no head. I think it is supposed to be like this. Nose is a strong mix of grape juice and honey, with a large hit of alcohol. Taste is syrupy, like a sweet wine, with a warm finish. First time I’ve had mead, and probably my last. A very average drink that no doubt has its fan-base.

Pale blond color. The aroma is a bit plastic. Sweet, without excess; some honey flavor. Drinkable, but simple.
