In December 2017 we brewed a massive long-boil Imperial Stout destined for barrels. The three-day brewday helped concentrate and intensify the flavours and alcohol without the addition of any adjunct sugars. The Poseidon Series was born.
Part 1 of this series is Iron Born, a selected single bourbon barrel with sweet notes of vanilla, light cherries and toffee which fade into intense dark chocolate, coffee and burnt sugar.
Serve at room temperature and enjoy with friends.
This beer should have excellent ageing potential.

Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 16
750 ml bottle from the brewery. Pours black with a thin tan cap. Aroma: deep roast, cocoa, liquorice, booze. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, prominently dry, umami, marmite, liquorice, hot chocolate, warming booziness. Full body with low carbonation.
