Originally brewed and developed in the garden of 97 B/C Forest Road in Hackney, East London by Pete and his new flatmates in the Summer of 2015 fresh after leaving his senior brewer position at Camden Town Brewery. After convincing a 500 year old brewery in Belgium (www.leroybreweries.be) to let him have a go - Pete took 75kg of American hops on the Eurostar to brew 15,000 liters of this badboy - this is how Forest Road was started.

5 years later, WORK ipa has retained its every intention.

Brewed with classic Northwest USA hops, with a sturdy malt backbone derived from our signature, carried by a soft ester profile from the much-sought after Forest Road house ale strain, dry-hopped during active fermentation, then once again immediately before its 3-week maturation and cold-conditioning phase.

Tap at Draf House, Seething Lane. Herbal aroma. Pine. Dung? Opaque orange amber. Thick creamy white head. Very light bitterness which gradually goes from strenght to strength. However it's pine lemon juice and quinine and all very one dimensional. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat/nil carbonation. Astringent finish. Poor attempt. If you hopped some ditch water I'd imagine it would taste like this. I still finished it though.

pours rather unclear blonde, small white head. Smell is mild, aromatic hoppyness. Taste is sharp, grassy bitter, really spicy hops, really green. very likeable ! Lovely intense green hoppy with a long lasting, fading out aftertaste that builds up even more spiced hops. Very nice ! rather intensely bitter aftertaste.

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. An amber colour with a thin white head; aroma of honey; strong sour grain taste with a smooth honeyed body and some citrus; then a spicy bitterness leading to a long drying finish. Nicely balanced.

Keg at the Kings Arms, 14/11/16. Golden blonde with a decent off white head. Nose is pale malts, lemon, straw, white pepper trace, orange peel. Taste comprises melon, tangerine, light bread dough, trace of minerality. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with an earthy hop dusting. Doesn’t come close to the best APA’s in town but drinkable none the less.
