Die Verwendung von sechs Malzsorten in unserem allerersten Stout führt zu einer tollen Balance von Kaffeenoten und Bitterschokolade. Definitiv als Wachmacher aus dem Winterschlaf geeignet, daher auch sein Name! Gut gehopft mit der Hopfensorte Sabro fügt es dem Malzprofil neben einer ausgewogenen Bitterkeit noch Aromen von süßen Früchten und Karamell hinzu.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, dark beige to tan head. Sweet-ish and roasty, caramel and chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate, dark caramel, a touch of treacle, weak, fruity hoppy overtones with unspecific fruitiness. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty and slightly bitter, roasty and chocolately, dark malty, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate, dark caramel, burnt caramel, some hop bitterness. Slightly viscous-creamy, watery texture, minimally pungent palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Nice malty aroma, rather bitter taste - best CrossBeau beer so far, one of the few without homebrew touch.

Bottle. Darkest brown, dark creamy brown head. Grassy, fresh, light herbal hop and chocolate nose. Medium body, creamy chocolate puddingon the palate, light sparkly dry mouthfeel. Dry chocolate, light coffee, a hint grain, nice hop counterpoint behind it all. Nice.

0.33 l bottle from 'Craft Bier Bude', best before November 2022. Very dark brown to black with a large, frothy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of cocoa, coffee beans and some hazelnut. Gently sweet, malty, fairly roasty taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, some licorice and a touch of hazelnut, followed by a short, rather roasty-bitter, earthy finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very decent stout, absolutely classic.

33cl bottle. A almost black beer with a beige to tan head. Aroma of roasted dark malt, coffee, bitter hops, pine. Taste of dark roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, melasse, intense bitter hops, pine. Nice!

Intensiver, trocken bitterer Beginn von Kaffee mit viel Hopfen. Bitterschokolade, etwas Röstmalz, der Hopfen scheint immer mal wieder durch, die Bitterkeit steigert sich sogar noch. Voluminös, grasige Nuancen, hefig, verbrannt karamellig. Das Hopfenaroma wird zum Ende deutlicher, langer Nachgeschmack. Unerwartete, aber unsüffige, Aromenbombe. 8/11/7/12/8/10
