Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, caramel, touch of liquorice. A hint of chocolate syrup. On the sweet side, mildly bitter. Medium to full body. Fine Baltic Porter, brewed to style.

440ml can. Pours jet black with a large head. Aroma is liquorice, tar, dark chocolate and dark berries. Taste has dark chocolate, liquorice and yeasty dark berries. Tar on the finish. Very heavy.

GBBF Day 1. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Rich dark malts, sweet dark chocolate and thin dark malt cream.Tangy whiskey soaked ripe fruits. Dry and spicy finish. Good residual Tonka like chocolate.

Can from Brygshoppen. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich roast malt, chocolate, licorice, coffee and hops. Nice roasty finish.

Can courtesy of Saxo. Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and licorice. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 220423

Dark cream head, retreating over jet-black beer. Dirty socks, coffee, gingerbread, liquorice, tobacco. Sweet (as in too...), tobacco; finish is thankfully a bit drier. Chocolate, Pumpernickel, dark green leaves. Full bodied, alcoholheat; bit sticky feel, good carbonation. Just a bit less sweet, Kees, please? Than it would be really great, and more of a Baltic Porter, instead of a contemporary strong dark syrup. Txs to Stef!

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 25 Aug 2022) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, liquorice, coffee and black bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, liquorice, black bread, a touch of vanilla and a mild roasty bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Fairly mellow mouthfeel and quite balanced for its strength. Still quite powerful. Very nice.
