DØE Ølfestival 2023. Dark amber with little head. Sweet malty flavour with toffee, nuts and alcohol. Sweet malty flavour with vanilla.

A small taste on tap @ TCBW 2023. Pours cloudy brown with a medium head. Aroma is roasted malts with some coffee. Flavor is sweet roasted malts with coffee, grains, hops. Tasty.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, some floral, fruity and mild herbal tones. Flavour is floral, fruity, some herbal and mild earthy tones. Quite sweet alcohol with some sweet caramel, fudge and mild spiciness in the finish too. Thick palate.

8-4-8-5-16 On tap @ What's Brewing 22, Stavanger. Pours dark mahogany, with a creamy mocha head. Aroma is grainy malts with syrupy bread, kandi and toffee, as well as fruity notes and wooden barrels. Full body, with average carbonation. Flavour is grainy malts with bread, caramel, dark fruits and wooden barrels. Lingering fruity malts in the finish.

Flaska från SB. Kastanjebrun nästan utan skum. Doft av fikon, fudge, vanilj och bourbon. Kladdig kropp, eldig alkoholvärme, mjuk nötighet, likörpralin. Kanske inte så komplex men maffig och eldig. Gott

Bottle, many thanks Nische! Deep amber color with off-white head. Aroma is caramel, rye whisky, oak, beautiful, not overdone, but very expressive. Taste is rye spice, raisins, oak, again pretty delicate actually, mildly warming finish. Oily mouthfeel, fine-bubbled carbonation. Excellent Barleywine, beautiful balance, also a great old school meets new school balance!
