On tap at the brewery. Deep brown appearance with a dark brown head. Somewhat piney, grapefruit, lightly charred aroma. Burnt chocolate flavor with somewhat bitter, herbal, piney notes. Pretty good.

Bottles provided for review. Enjoying during today’s Super Blizzard. Pours a light brown color with a pale center from a flood of tiny bubbles, under a puffy, grayish foam. Smell has a pleasant, since "beer" quality at first sniff, then evokes wheat toast with honey on it, and lacks the harshness of the usual roasted grain. Taste is a decent match to the description; though with more roasting than the smell suggested. This is added to by the resin bitterness of the hops. The total sits nicely on the tongue and upper palate, and prepares me to get back into the kitchen and do something delicious to a couple of pounds of bacon.
