Boston has a long, rich history of brewing. By the late 1800s, over 30 breweries existed inside Boston's city limits, making it one of America's largest brewing hubs. Inspired by Boston's brewing glory days, Samuel Adams Boston Brick Red has a distinct caramel flavor from pale and caramel malts, and a deep red color reminiscent of the historic red brick at the Samuel Adams Boston brewery. This one of a kind beer has historically only been found on tap in Boston, making it impossible to take home this piece of the city's brewing history.... Until now. Cheers!

On tap at Union Oyster House. Amber red pour with a small beige head. Toasted malt aroma hints at toffee. Flavor is toasted malt and toffee with notes of spicy hops on the backend. Nice balance and complexity.

16oz can-tight/retaining lt tan head-bright reddish. A-caramel/roasty med malt, slight earthy/fruity. T-follows, with the earthy hops flatness becoming dominant mid to late palate.

Pours reddish, clear with an off-white bubbly head. Sharp aroma of malt base with an Irish whiskey hint. Taste has malty base, lemongrass, caramel. Palate has a continuation of nuts and floral elements. Surprisingly good, hearty.

Draught at Sunset Grill, back in the day.
Pours a clear, cherry-tinged auburn with a dark beige head atop that is small and shows low retention.
Smells of specialty malt, stale bread, iced tea, lactic acid and simple sugar. Fruity cherry on the finish lends acidity, as well.
Tastes like most Cincinnati-brewed Sams; stale, lifeless, malt-forward, bready, fizzy and watery on the finish. AKA bad. This one in particular has more specialty malt than it should, lending an iced tea and brown bread quality. Weird acidity throughout with a very simple, sugary base malt, fizzy carbonation and not really anything interesting or positive to be found.
