Bottle @ Stephen’s house. Pours a deep brown appearance with a light brown head. Kind of a twangy aroma with some marshmallow, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and dark fruits. Some grape and plum in the flavor along with caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. Mild whiskey. Decent carbonation. Ok.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with yeast flakes with tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is butterscotch and honey. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt and butterscotch flavor. Easy to drink a very good Grain.

Sampled from the tap at 2011 FOBAB. Poured a deep brown with an earthy brown head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was full of dark grains with some sweet chocolate and a hint of rye. Flavor was similar with dark grains and sweet chocolate backed by a hint of bitter chocolate and rye.

A dark brown ale with a thick mocha head. In aroma, a strange molassey malt with dark fruits and off notes, light ginger. In mouth, a smooth chocolate and molasses, a bit of licorice, light fruity esters, not bad. Bottle at FoBAB 2011.
