On tap at Black Squirrel’s Michigan beer event during DC Beer Week 2014. Pours a murky amber with some cloudy off white head. Nose has a lot of acid, some butyric, vinegar, some mild raisin, a bit of cherry, a bit vegetal too. Flavor has a bit more balance, vinegar, raisin, hints of malt, vitamin C. Full tart finish.

Excellent Flander’s red. All the great plum and apricot tartness of a Rodenbach or the Duchess. Pours cloudy maroon with nice crackery bretta and a great tart finish. Well put together and generally awesome. Tap at Black Squirrel.

On tap @ Avery Sour Fest 2014. Pours a cloudy reddish orange appearance with a light tan head. Dark fruit, plum, grape notes in the nose. Pretty heavy acetic acid in the flavor that is kind of harsh on the finish. Some caramel and toasted malt notes as well. Black cherries. Pretty decent but the finish is just too harsh.
