Draught @ Pizza Port, San Clemente, CA
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long roasted, coffee and licorice finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. A black one topped by a dense, light tan head. Licorice, roasted malts, coffee and some dark sugar. Some alcohol warmth in the mouth, full body and a soft carbonation. Roasted malts, Dark chocolate, some molasses and salty licorice too. Lasting finish. A really nice sipper. 130813

On tap at CBC Clerkenwell during the Pizza Port Tap Takeover - London. Pours black-brown with a moderate, creamy beige head. Dark malt nose, some chocolate, iodine, light alcohol zip. Sweet, with rich dark malts, chalky cocoa, some boozy notes, light roast. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with rich baking cocoa, moderate roasted malts, some earthy bitterness, more chalky, dusty cocoa. Very rich overall but not cloying.

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell - Pizza Port Tap Takeover After Party, 22/04/13. Dark black with a medium sized tan head. Nose is is roast malts, chocolate, dark toffee. Taste carries a good hop presence, roast malt, dark chocolate, leather, brown sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, booze eveident in the finish. Good stuff - the booze is well integrated in this one.

Craft Clerkenwell Pizza Port Tap Takeover. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Rich dark malt with a touch of coffee and cream. Mild dark fruits underneath. A rich, smooth and well integrated Impy.

On tap at Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, dark chocolate and dry cocoa powder. Flavour brings out dark cocoa powder, a touch of Belgian yeast, and some mildly astringent hops that linger on the finish. Medium-bodied for an impie stout, but full-flavoured with a more Belgian-y feel than the Night Rider. Excellent stuff.

Tap @ Boulder Strong Ale Fest 2013. Pours a black/dark brown appearance with a dark brown head. Burnt malty, dark chocolate, lightly smoky, anise aroma. Chocolatey, light caramel, coffee, roasty malty flavor. Pretty tasty.

On tap. Pours with a black hued body with a lasting tan head. Aromas are of roasty notes, fruity, pine, hoppy, light smoke, alcohol, really bitter chocolate and some coffee creamer. Flavors are bitter, roasty, clean and hoppy. Dry, bitter chocolate, tar, iodine and roast. Little sweetness and very aggressive. Hard to drink in large quantities, but good for a taster or small half pint. Medium carbonation, somewhat thick.

On tap at GABF 2012. Rating 4,000! I love me some Pizza Port, so why not! Pours a deep black hue with a medium tan head. A big nose of rich coffee and chocolates. The flavor moves between bitter black chocolates and coffee, big roast, very dry. Excellent brew.
