Sample at the tap room in Denver. Dark brown color with a medium foamy beige head that recedes slowly to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Roasted malt and mild coffee in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, caramel and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a short grainy malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Re-rate - much like the ipa, this has significantly improved in later batches - originally a 2.9 - the diacetyl is now completely gone - the maple, light smoke, chcoclate and other qualities are now free to be enjoyed without distractions - much better! -Tap at OMF - hazy dark amber - soapy lace - nose is toffee, chocolate, mild grain husk, maple, a touch of buttery character - soft carbonation - actually feels pretty nice and creamy in the mouth - flavor is maple, toffee, light chocolate, light leafy bitterness - slightly astringent in the finish - mild diacetyl - not great, but not nearly as bad as Aaron thinks it is.
