Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Hazy blond color with creamy head. Delicate aroma of cereals, chamomile, grass, yellow polenta. Lean and dry mouthfeel; the flavor has some hay and cereals accent; strong bitterness; soft hop resins, but lacking a bit in the fruity side; balanced and long final.
Good beer, but a bit disappointing compared to expectations.

Bottle: Pale yellow with a light haze. Mountainous fluffy white head, thick sheets of lacing. Aromatic with pine resin and citrus. Not overly intense, but nice. Same goes with the taste. A bit more citrus fruit, softer on the pine, and caramel. Great hop flavor. A couple weeks past the ‘drink by’ date, but still a champ. Much improved over the Cascade batch.

Pours a clear, light gold-yellow, with minimal, fast-vanishing head. Floral, hop aromas. Flavor was very citrusy, at first, but with a strong, bitter hop finish to it. Feels a bit watery. This one started out strong, but got less and less notable as I drank it.

I had this on tap at the John B, however it was on a tap that was previously used for Pyramid Apricot, and that fouls the lines, so this isn’t a proper rating.

22oz bomber pours with a clear gold body that supports a tight near white head of foam. The aroma offers up soft pear like cotton candy, a bit of mango lime and earthy dank hops as well as a spicy woody type note. The taste begins with sweet malts and mild apricot fruitiness. It then quickly rolls into more and more bitter hop lime and mango and a little bit of dank garlic like earthy hops. Between those notes it gets a bit resiny with hops from time to time. Pretty nice.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a hazy golden yellow appearance with a creamy white head. A bit chalky, grapefruity, somewhat dank, weedy, marijuana, slight lemon juicy, light tropical fruity aroma. Tangy melon, grapefruit juicy, leafy/herbal, somewhat chalky, a bit spicy hoppy flavor that finishes dry and a bit powdery. I’m not overly crazy about this but it is pretty clean and easy to drink.

draft at a sampling event. From notes. Grapefruit and floral notes. I could drink this everyday.

Bomber bought at the fairly new Smokes and Suds in CDA, ID. Aroma is doughy, rubbery, sulfur, grapefruit, chalky chewable vitamins, floral. Pours an extremely pale slightly hazy golden hue with a two finger white head with nice retention; sudsy lace sheets the glass after dissipation. Taste is lightly bittersweet, with the bitterness lingering long after the swallow; lemony, bready flavors. Creamy mouthfeel, light carbonation for style, medium body. Not too bad, but that rubbery sulfur smell is distracting. I wonder if too much sunlight got to it.

Bomber from the Davis Co-Op (CA). Pours translucent gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is citrus zest, almost, with earthiness. Full bodied til the carb leaves. It’s very hoppy. Very zesty. Orange. So strong that burnt rubber comes to mind. Why? Don’t know. It’s not all that bitter compared to the hugest NW IPAs, but it does not lack flavor and bitterness. I cannot recall a fresh hop beer that is so striking as this. It just bowls me over. Brilliant effing ale.

Bomber from Imbibe Wine. Nose is citrus with a little grapefruit and a hint of bubblegum in the far background. Lightly hazy yellow with a medium pale yellow head. Flavor is bitter with a bit of a malt background.
