22 oz. bottle. Dark, amber-brown color, with a small, beige, foamy head. The nose is toffee, bittersweet chocolate, licorice, some burnt toast, and pecans. Sweet and very malty, with a pretty good, earthy bitterness that lingers, subdued, at the back of the throat for a long while. Medium body, silky, fairly smooth, and just a little astringent. This is a fun, malty, and lightly smoky beer.

Light brown, little bit of haze. Aroma is caramels and toffees, not to intense, and it’s clean. All stuff I want out of an old ale. Taste is similar. The hop/alcohol balancing points are quite mellow but on point. Finishes balanced, with a sweet accent. It’s good - the best examples throw some extra nuance in there - Old Peculiar from the wood being my classic - but this is s tough style to nail and they did a pretty good job here. 4 7 7 4 14

Bottle - thanks Eric! Pours clear reddish hazel with a small beige head and some lacing. Downhill from there, unfortunately. Aroma is grain, grass, corn, caramel. Flavor is the same, light plus sweet, light bitter, light astringence. Medium body, a bit boozy. Not so great.

Bottle @ Dan’s house, courtesy of who the fuck knows. This was found in Dan’s fridge and no one knows who bought this fucking shit. Cloudy, dark orange appearance with a tan head. Soapy, floral, light citrusy, light toasty aroma. Tangy, orange/grapefruit citrusy, floral hoppy, soapy, bitter flavor. Not all that good but not horrible either.
