Fermented at 10°C with lager yeast and then cold-lagered for smoothness, this love letter to malty goodness is a profusion of aromatic coffee, molasses, raisin and caramel flavours from twelve different malts. Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops add balance and bitterness. Long matured Baltic Porter (the lager equivalent of an Imperial Stout). It’s a stunningly complex, yet drinkable 8.2% beauty.

Can at BrewDog Leicester. Dark brown, possibly black with a beige ring of head. Malt-heavy aroma with stone fruit and a hint of smoke. Sweet taste with hints of date and plum among the heavy malt, with a slight bitterness gaining in the finish. Medium carbonation lifts a slight body for the ABV. Very impressive

Can from the brewery. Appearance - deep brown to black and pretty much opaque. Nose - black fruit, light molasses and smoke. Taste - earthy and smoky with molasses and black cherry. All notes are quite subtle, but there nonetheless. Palate - medium bodied, gently roasty through middle and finish. Overall - nice.
