Bottle 250ml @ Zum Franziskaner Pours dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma has notes of malt, dried fruits, caramel, alcohol, oak. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, malty, dried fruity, caramel and oak. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat

Bottle, at Zum Franziskaner. An unclear copper colored beer with a dense finger thick beige head. A bit too oaked aroma, with delicious toffee, dark dried fruit and pine cone hints. Roasted malts and brown sugar. Some resemblance to dark rum. It's full bodied and lightly carbonated, sweet and bitter, warming. Dark dried fruit and toffee flavor with oak, vanilla, brown sugar and some roasted malts and dark chocolate. Long finish. Sure, a nice one, but too much straight oak I think. 240723

250 ml bottle. pours a clear mahogany color with light head. Aromas of oak, dry caramel, raisins and toasted malts. Flavors follow same with malts more biscuity plus some additional mineral water. Very dry. Makes the original taste soapy.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is vanilla, oak, some dried fruits, mild alcohol. Flavour is oak, some vanilla, mild spiciness with some dried fruits, ripe fruits and a wee bit alcohol sweetness to it.

Poured from 33cl bottle (bb 16 Aug 2026). Clear copper with small white head. Oak, dark fruit, caramel. Decent.

250ml shared with Ryan. Appearance: clear copper with a weak beige head. Aroma: dark fruits, oak, moderate sweetness. Taste: along the same lines, nice jammy finish. Overall: pretty good.

Bottle from Glasbanken. Dark amber with beige head. Dried fruit, caramel, figs, some blue cheese, quite a bit of oak. Taste is similar with rounded sweetness, oak, honey, malt, dry fruit and again blue cheese. Warming finish.

Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, caramel, malty, sweet malt, bread, barrel - vanilla, dried fruit, rich. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is warming. [20220417]
