29/V/17 - 33cl bottle from Zythos Bierfestival 2017 (Leuven), shared with Cies @ home - BB: 29/VI/18 (2017-684)
Little hazy dark blond beer, creamy yellowish head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: funky, citrus, mandarins, lambic notes, pretty sourish, yeasty, floral. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity, tangerines, soft bitterness, lemony, bit spicy, funky, horse blanket (there, I said it! :p ). Aftertaste: bitter touch, fruity, zesty, lemon peel and orange peel. Nicely done!

33 cl botle. Pours clear and golden yellow, small white head. Aroma is citrusy and slight barnyard funky. Ild sour, fruity, medium dry bretty. Lingering slight citrusy finish. Mild fruity far finish.

Golden. Aroma is tart. White wine and grains. Tastes too heavy and thick. Heavy gas.

@ Wieze Bierfestivql 2017. Pours unclear warm blonde, OK white head. Smell is a bit safe, but still clearly brett. Taste is sharp, sour, funk, bit oak. Citrussy, very funky. I like this !

Bottle as a gift. Many thanks! Hazy golden colour, lots of creamy, rocky foam. Nose of citrus, lemon, brett. Funky and tart, some green apple notes. Tart, light sweet, yeasty. Not bad actually!

At Wieze Bierfestival. Tripel (re)fermented with a Brettanomyces strain from Wyeast, limitedly produced. Off-white, very stable, lacing, moussy head, lightly hazy golden blonde colour with greenish hue. Aroma of sweaty and urine-like Brett funkiness indeed, banana, pear, sourdough, unripe peach, white bread, unripe plum, cardboard, dust. Estery onset, gooseberry and raw pineapple, low in sweetness but still with a banana-like core, sour berry tartness stretching out over the whole palate - in fact more sourness than funkiness, so I suspect the Brett was not alone in fermenting this beer. Smooth, cereally pale malt sweetish backbone, bit hayish ending, slight bitterness but most of all, ongoing, softly drying tartness. Comparable with Roman’s Rebelse Strop and the like: the reinvention of Brett applied to simple Belgian ale standards.
