A Deeper Understanding was blended from four different barrel vintages containing different base stouts, before aging on four unique regions of vanilla bean caviar. Vanilla caviar from Tahiti, Congo, Ecuador and Vanuatu frolic with Weller, Bakers, and Rockfilter barrel character. An intense aroma of charred chicory infused dark chocolate, smothered in toasted marshmallows drizzled with Frederiksdal coulis envelops the atmosphere around this liquid. The flavor reveals deep layers of spiced chocolate covered cherry truffles, stuffed into a toasted marshmallow, on a milk chocolate stroopwafel when enjoyed at Minnesota autumn temperatures. Another chapter in our everlasting quest to unlock hidden secrets within vanilla

Cor surprise beer #1. Thick, heavy, rich. Quite sweet, buckets of bourbon, big chunk of vanilla. Very chocolaty. Quite tasty. On reveal: a-ha! Fun to try. Quite a bit too sweet for me, unfortunately, although this has great body.

(Bottle, 0.75 l - a sample, at Pien Shop, 20220517) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, wood, vanilla, vineousness and ash. Palate was full bodied and sticky sweet with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, vanilla, wood, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, sweet, woody and bitter. A too sweet brew with boozy notes. Nice barrel flavours.
