Pours deep apricot into a tulip. White head with medium retention recedes leaving trailing spiders. Mango, melon and apricot aromas. Thick with earthy hot mango and sweet melon upfront turning to a dusty pickled watermelon rind finish.

Imperial NEIPA by Toppling Goliath hopped with the classic trio Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra; can of a few months old, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Dense and creamy, medium thick, yellowish ‘ecru’ white head lacing in thick shreds over a cloudy apricot blonde beer with dispersed, tiny flakes of yeast here and there. Intense, fragrant, very fruity and mildly dank aroma of ripe mango, passionfruit, guava, kiwi, peach cobbler, vanilla beans, Thai basil, starfruit, Betterfood, gin. Sweetish and sourish, refreshing onset, medium carb, lots of mango, guava, rambutan, passionfruit and kiwi associations from the hops, with a citric edge; smooth, full body, Betterfood- and soggy biscuit-like malts deeply and completely soaked in fragrant tropical, zesty, citrusy and slightly dank hoppiness, very powerful, evoking a basket of mango, passionfruit, kiwi, lime and mandarin as well as orange blossom and pink peppercorns, followed by a glow of gin-like alcohol which somehow manages not to interfere with this bright colour pallet of hops, allowing them to stretch out all over the finish, adding quite some long-stretching, spicy bitterness too. Exemplary NEIIPA: beautifully vibrant, refreshing and colourful but also sufficiently bitter, not descending into spiked fruit juice territory, like so many other NEIPAs, NEDIPAs and NEIIPAs. Worth seeking out if you are into hazy IPAs.

Canned 1/11/22 , drunk 3/2/22. Medium haziness in a bright, copper-tinted-golden with a dense, off-white head that is well-retained. Nose is strong yeast character producing light melon and bubble gum with a strong dose of graham cracker and light caramel sweetness from the malt, as well as moderate, though not sharp, alcohol. Hops may have faded a bit more than is ideal, by this point, leaving more malt and yeast character behind. Lots of watermelon and canteloupe in the flavor, with a hint of spicy pine and a fair bit of orange juice-like Citra. Not too bitter or resinous and in fact, very, very malty. Really appreciate the watermelon-like character, as well as the super relaxed bitterness. The palate never bogs down or fatigues, either from malt or acidity.

I enjoyed this straight from the tank before canning courtesy of Clark Lewey. Poured a murky straw with an off white head. Aromas of dank pine. Flavors are bitter pine and citrus. Delicious.
