The Imperial Chupacabra is a special annual release in celebration of the founding of Engine 15 Brewing Co. This Russian Imperial Stout style ale is aged in freshly emptied Bourbon barrels. This beer ages well but is equally delicious today.

Bottle shared by owner. Pours a dark brown with beige head. The aroma is a strong oak and cherry. Thin mouth with rich roast and light tartness, infection present.

22oz bottle thanks to the owner during the RBWG bus tour. I’m thinking this may have been an off bottle... the aroma was almost pure acetone/nail polish remover with some booziness and a hint at roast and bourbon. The flavor was much the same as well. 2.6

Bottle at the brewpub during RBWG 2013. Thanks to the staff for sharing this one. Pours oily black-brown with no head. Big, pungent aroma of alcohol, mud, burnt wood and chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor, very boozy and medicinal, with light tang, earthy bitterness, some basement, dry burnt wood. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Warm finish with astringent burnt wood, massive iodine, ripe dark berries. Pretty rough overall.
