Dark brown with dark amber highlights. Has a lot of molassesy, barbeque saucy sweetness associated with the nose. Sweet, and barrely, with light molasses but this is still an overly light beer for the style.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with small beige head. The aroma is strong whiskey, cocoa, vanilla. Medium mouth with strong cocoa, vanilla, sweet finish, light dryness, very good.

Taster at the brewery - black pour with a fairly thick white lace - texture is slightly thin, but there is a fair froth/creaminess to it - nose and flavor are cookie dough, whiskey, vanilla, mild oak, a moderate booziness, chocolate - finish is mostly whiskey, but it isn’t overly boozy - as whiskey aged beers to, it is fairly balanced, but there is still a slight burn to the finish - decent.
