Huge, dense, flamingo-pink head over deep, veiled Bordeaux beer. Red/pink fruit, berries, some fresh green leaves, rather sweet aroma. Light fruity sourishness, natural & convincing. Light malty underbuild. Raspberry, other red/pink/orange fruit & berries. Ever so slightly wry finish. Highly carbonated, Champenoise. Slick, but only medium bodied. Aftertaste has some hints at fruitsyrup, as only negative mark.Surprise, surprise - really. The very first Dame Jeanne beer I can really dig. In fact, I find this very good!

17/VI/16 - 75cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: 1/VIII/17 (2016-657)
Clear deep ruby red to purple pinkish beer, creamy pink head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: fruity, raspberries, bit lemony, yeast. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: slightly sweet start, fruity, sourish, raspberries, yeast, lemony, some tannins. Aftertaste: fruity, slightly sweet, lemony, bitter touch, wood notes. Decent, however crazy expensive! :-( Around 15 - 17 euro's IIRC...

Bottle from Belgiuminabox, shared with Craftmember and his lady in combination with dessert, in which context this beer worked very well; it had a thin, off-pinkish, lacing head and pinkish ruby red colour with hazy appearance. Aroma of lambrusco, rosé champagne, fresh red raspberries, red beetroot, lemon peel, damp earth. Soft raspberry and sour cherry-like acidity at first, bit lemony even, quickly tempered by sweeter fruitiness and a light honey sweetishness under a spritzy, lambrusco-like carbonation; the honeyish malt and fruit sweetness persists but does not become cloying and gets the company of soft acidity and earthy yeastiness in the finish, with even a faraway hop bitterishness. Not my favorite type of beer, but admittedly this has a certain degree of complexity more so than many other top-fermented fruit beers and proves interesting in beer & food-pairing relations.

Bottle. Opens with a loud POP. The cork is pressed heavy onto the bottle, so its really stuck even though there appears to be much power underneath. Pours very dark and deep red / purple. Big pink head fades rather fast. Smell is intense cherry-syrup of some sort. Taste is Bit bitter, the fruityness is intense but obviously intensified ( syrup ) and with much sugar added to it. The carbonation is high, but works. In the back, hints are to be found of the hopbitterness, and even some notes of grains. Overall, the syrup overpowers to much, and the syrup itself is a thing I’m not a big fan of anyways. On the other hand, for what it is, I kinda like the result. I mean, I don’t like champagnebeer, I dont like fruit-syrup things, but this is OK. A full bottle for myseld is too much though...
