Hybrids are common in the world of Victiculture as growers strive to make the best and most tolerant grape. Hermann Muller of Thurgau, Switzerland did just that in 1882 as he crossed the Reisling with Madame Royal, creating the Muller- Thurgau Grape. Now, another hybrid has formed at Oakshire as our brewmaster joined forces with the wine makers at Oregon's Anne Amie Vineyards to create this beer/ wine hybrid. We used Anne Amie's classic Muller Thurgau grape and artifully blended it with a Belgian golden ale and matured it with Brettanomyces in Anne Amie's Pinot Noir Barrel for a year. Hermanne is light and crisp with a complex fruity middle and dry tannic finish.

Bottle at Wtf 2. Pours a cloudy yellow with medium frothy white head. The aroma is strong yeast, wood, grape. Medium mouth, vinous, grape, nice tartness, light oak, very nice.

Vintage 2013. Bottle at PIB 2015, pours a cloudy murky yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of brett, with some red wine barrels. Flavour brings out lots of bretty notes, followed by vinous notes and citrus zest. Well-balanced and funk. Very good stuff.

Blonde, bright, has a tart aroma, lightly fruity. On the palate, this is tart, lightly fruity, and has a gentle wood character. Some light esters are present, really, a complex well-balanced beer at a lighter level for the category.
