12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of grape must, red wine barrels, and a little wild yeast. Flavour is very grape-centric, with intense tartness, red wine barrels and a little residual sweetness. Finishes on notes of wood, tart grapes, and red wine notes.

Medium-amber. Big grapey aroma, with a whack of barrel. Has vinous, woody, malty depth. Appetizing. This is really tart, vinous and woody, but the acidity is really intense. Just a whack of barrel and acetic. Doesn’t really have enough nuance for me. Not the worst beer, but there’s a lot of room for this to be better.

Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours a dark copper with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong grape skin, wood, leather. Thin mouth, nice fruity grape, vinous, great amount of sourness, really enjoyed this and suprised how much fruit was in this.

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting VII on 09/25/2015. Clear brown color with ruby around the edges, and a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, vine fruits, yeast and malt. Medium body with a tart vinous oak character and flavors of yeast, malt and berries. The finish is moderately sour with a grape and berry aftertaste. Good beer all around.
