750ml bottle from the Transmitter Reserve Society. The cork was moving even before the cage came off. Once the cage finally did come off, the cork flew probably 40m. No joke. Good thing we were outside and no one was in direct line of fire. After that, it poured a very hazy gold with quite a bit of fluffy white head. Nose has straw, dusty couch, some gristy notes, stale biscuit, some dried pineapple, a little lemon, some straw. Flavor follows, a bit fruitier but FAR from juicy, musty, some straw, dusty couch, some stale biscuit, some white pepper. Finished medium bodied, dry and a bit harsh.

The Sampler, Brooklyn 750ml ($16): Pours orange with a white head. This was an exploding beer for sure. I took the metal cage off the cork and within seconds the beer blew up, forcing me to cover the top with my mouth. Aroma is earthy, fruity, and a bit funky. Taste is similarly Earthy, kind of sweet. Sort of off. I don’t think I like what the brett did in this beer. Or perhaps, I just didn’t like the way it blended with what I would consider too hefty a malt backbone. In any case, this was not my kind of beer. Something about the brett from this brewery just doesn’t work for me.
