Shaker pint draft at the Lakewood Brewing Company in Garland, Texas. The pour is a clear golden with a smaller white head. The aroma is clean cereal malt with grass hay hops and a hint of malt sweetness towards the back. The taste is clean cereal grain, softly sweet, with grass and some mineral to the crisp finish. The mineral gets a bit dirty as the beer warms, but doesn’t detract too much. The palate is light to medium bodied with a bright carbonation and dry mineral finish. Well made Kolsch, I enjoyed this one.

Can at the Austin Motel - picked up at the Whip In. Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy, white head. Simple aroma, with touches of biscuit, cereal and hay. Light-medium sweet flavour with further biscuity character, faint meringue, lightly butter straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty clean on the finish, with hints of grass, hay, lemon rind, more cereal grains, biscuits. Solid, easy-drinking kolsch.
