Draught from headless horsemen. Dark pour, I could really not tell. Piney hops aroma. Citrusy hops predominate this one, a bit of burnt coffee. It was ok but not malty enough for me.

On tap at Proletariat, Manhattan, NY, USA in October 2014. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, hoppy, citrus, pine aroma. Tastes pretty much the same, roasty, malty, hoppy, citrus, pine. Decent effort from Singlecut.

Draught @ The Ginger Man, NYC. Pours cloudy black with creamy tan head. Clear aroma of roast, caramel malt, hops and coffee. Bitter and roasty onset, giving way to sweetish malty notes, ending on a coffeelike note. A really good blackie.

Pine Box Rock Shop, Brooklyn tap ($6): Pours black with a beige-tan head. Aroma is pine, chocolate, rez, and roasted malts. Taste is your pretty standard middle of the road Black IPA. Everything is in balance. Nice bitter hops with pine and even a bit of citrus, but not in a west coast way. Malt backbone is prominent, but not overpowering. Nice and sessionable, but also very substantial and satisfying
