Bottle obtained in a trade. I would have expected way more ratings by now, but I’ll think i’ll just open it now, after all, i’ve waited several months... Pours clear blonde, ok white head. Smell is very lactic, oak, sour. Taste is sharp, very lactic sour, dry, some oak. High carbonation. Some lemon-sourness ( citrussy sidenotes ). Withoud pointing at the actual brewing process, the taste comes across very unnatural. Added yeaststrains is one thing, but this is really, really american - in a way the sourness is made to be very intense, forgetting about balance, mouthfeel, depth and complexity. It’s just lactic sour, and dry. Even though the style of American sour ( some believe in the name of American geuze, but lets not walk that path ) has produced some of the greatest beers I drank - many of them different to, but equally good as the real Belgian stuff - this one is a perfect example about blank sour american beers, the way we don’t like it, the way many people disslike American sours. Even though its not at all a bad beer - I’d happily drink the glass, and another one if it were local to me - it is most definately not what you seek out if you want a top-class sour.
