# 3296; 11/2022. Black chocolate, citrus, fruity aroma. Opaque dark brown body, persistant tany head. Dark chocolate, floral, zesty. Very good beer, still below average BIPA. 0,1 l, tasting set, draught, brewpub, Vienna.

At the brewpub, shared with, and thanx to, Wreckmeister . Pours black, small grey head. Smell is very intense, roasty. Mild bitterness, bit coffee. Taste is bit plastic, mild bitter, roasty. Very roasty. Hidden coffee. OK, misses balance and taste isn’t that nice in the end.

Draught @ Beaver Brewing Co, Vienna, Austria. Not retired, on tap at the brewpub 120816. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, some sweetness, caramel, dark chocolate, light coconut, some citrusly hops, oragepeel. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, roast malt, caramel, licorice, dark chocolate, little cocoa, citrusly hops. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, dry finish. A little to thin, otherwise really fine. 120816

Tap at Craft Bier Fest Wien. Aroma has lots of roastiness, coffee and dark chocolate. Only lightly hoppy. Taste feels more like classic CDA, lots of resiny grassy hops, only complementary roast. Quite good, well attenuated, easy drinking.

Draught at the brewpub. Pitch black with off white head. Aroma of salty liquorice, lemon and a little bit of cocoa. Very roasted taste with coffee being quite dominant. Strong roast and the fruity.hops really are subtle here. Quite bitter finish.

Draght at the brewpub.
Dark brown body, with a big, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of coffee, cocoa, slight liquorice, citrus, passion fruit, orange.
Tastes of citrus, orange, some grapefruit, passion fruit, cocoa powder, smooth coffee, chocolate.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes quite dry, smooth, medium roasty, zesty, citric, moderate fruity, with coffee, cocoa, some liquorice.
Very nice. Really smooth and well balanced, drinks pretty fresh, but still with enough roasty notes. The dry finish makes this even easier to drink, the ABV is completely hidden. Overall not among my favourite style examples, but among the best BIPAs from Austria I’ve had so far.

0,1l from tap at the brewpub. Black colour, small coffee-colored head. Smells citric, coffee, caramel, licorice, grapefruit, bitter chocolate, some cocoa powder, some grass. Nice smell. Medium to full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes citric, grapefruit, licorice, some coffee, light vanilla, a bit medical, some herbs, some cocoa. Finishes lightly dry very light bitterness and a bit roasted with notes of licorice and exotic fruits. wow, this stuff is good, quite complex, very smooth and silky mouthfeel, great balance, not overly complex but retains a great drinkability
