This creation from our brewmaster is based on a 100-year-old recipe of Ottakringer and for sure will make hearts of beer lovers beat faster. This historic beer composition made from Viennese malt, melanoidin malt and the finest Saaz hops captivates with its striking, amber reflections. The Wiener Original has a fine nutty note, and a flavour that transcends into an elegant malt aroma. The Wiener Original leaves a distinct yet gently bitter after-taste.

Can at home. Aroma of bready malt, toasty notes, biscuit, hay, hint of caramel, hint of hops. Flavour is moderate sweet with a pleasant moderate bitter finish. Medium body. A bit of a ’neutral’ beer, but certainly passable.

Can 50 cl. Dark golden, clear, slightly yellowish foam. Aroma: malt, biscuits, a little candy, a slight hint of caramel. Taste: malt, a little caramel and biscuits, bitter finish, not bad.

As Ottakringer Wienna Lager, 5.4% ABV. Can, 0.5l. Clear golden/amber pour, two finger soapy off-white head, short lasting. Decent lacing on the glass. Nice on the nose, malty and grassy notes, toasted caramel in the background. Light to medium body, soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel and texture, soft, slightly chewy, refreshingly fizzy. Easily drinkable. Nicely balanced bittersweet taste. Malty aroma, toasted caramel, grains, grass. Bready aftertaste, subtle hop notes. Medium lasting finish, dry, slightly sweet. Solid thirst quencher.

Can picked up from a small Billa Supermarket and consumed at 🚴♂️🚴♀️ Camping Kaltenbrock, Wilhering Friday 25th August 2023 after a cycle ride to from Linz. We're cooking Thai Pork and Chicken Burgers served with a simple salad. Pours deep amber with a fast disappearing white head. Some caramel and a little bit of sweetness, touch chewy, ok.
