It is on the lighter end of stouts, which sometimes is just what you want. Coconut Bomb!

Deep dark brown coloured body with a pretty nice, two centimetre tall off-white and tan creamy head that stays afloat for a long time, but dies down pretty quickly. Aroma of rich roasted malt, nuts, earth, grain and a lot of cream, lactose and anise notes with some hints of coffee and chocolate of course and not much at all from any coconut or tropically scents, but the malt looms large here. Medium to Full-bodied; Very rich earthy and nutty flavours show at first with a bunch of lactose and creamy vanilla notes with some sugar cookie and pure caster sugar flavours with some coffee and a very mild milk chocolate note as well, but this is subdued compared to the richer alcohol and coffee notes. Aftertaste shows a lot of the lactose, creamy, vanilla and pretty earthy flavours overall from the flavour with a softer grainy note and some light yeast flavours coming through with a rather deep and bitter finish, seemingly all from the malts here, but some assertive caramelised and nutty sugars might lead to that as well. Overall, a pretty strong beer throughout with some very mild coconut notes at the very end, but only after you focus directly on those and not the richer, deeper roasted malt notes which are way stronger here. Some pungency from the coffee, chocolate and sugars at the finish, but much less of a robust beer than I was expecting, it's strong, but not terribly complex and the main flavours of coconut are only on the VERY tail end and when everything else is gone. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 19-April-2019 for US$4,27, canned on 20-November-2018 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 20-November-2022.

16 ounce can from Woodman's Oak Creek, 6/8/19. Dark brown, large frothy brown head, good retention. Aroma of coconut, lactose, nuts, roast. Taste is roast, lactose, chocolate, cherry, coconut. Medium bodied, sweet but not quote off balance. Decent.

Can, purchased from Dominion Wine and Beer. Consumed at home. Poured a pitch black color with a thick, light tan. Nice roast, light coconut cream character. Pretty tasty, surprisingly refreshing, pleasant roasted character. Not a whole lot of coconut, but pleasant creamy character.

Can thanks to Rainer. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is coconut and roast. Thin body, coconut, toasted malt, very sweet, boozy finish, good.

Pours deep mahogany into an English pint. Off-white head with excellent retention recedes leaving scant sheets to coat surface. Dark molasses and coconut aromas. Soft with sweet hot caramel and coconut upfront turning to creamy milk chocolate and espresso in the lasting finish.
