Can (from beergium). Pours black with brownish head. The head stays. Aroma is roast, malt, some metallic notes. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, citrus, malt, slightly acidic. Finish is roast bitter. Overall: good, easy to drink.

CraftBeer & Smoke Shop, Brooklyn can: Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is pine, tropical fruit, citrus, and roasted malts. Taste is fairly bitter. Quite roasty. Lingering aftertaste. Not a bad black IPA.

Clear black beer, nice solid creamy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lovely stuff, lots of pineapple, grapefruit, soft roast, some caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very roasted, bitter hops, lots of citrus, bitter hops, lovely beer! Aftertaste: some caramel, malty, lots of citrus, very hoppy finish. What a beer, lovely!

Can ,7%. Almost black with medium brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, hops and grapefruit. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, medium sweet, grapefruit, pine and medium bitter.

473ml can from Kihoskh. Pours pitch black with a smooth head. Aroma of roasty malts, licorice, rye, herbal hops and grass. Taste is smooth, slightly roasty and hoppy with some salty licorice, herbal notes and earthiness. Finish is smooth, slightly roasty and hoppy with some herbal notes and salty licorice. Pretty smooth hoppy stout.

Deep dark brown coloured body with an almost black glaze with a small off-white head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of super hops with grassy and pine notes with a big malt backbone and a rich hoppiness - very nice throughout with good complexity. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich roasted malt backbone with a super pungent hop flavour that shows a lot of depth, some pine, grapefruit, grass and especially a big amount of herbs. Aftertaste shows a lot of hops with an equally large presence of roasted malt, some light coffee and a touch of earth. Overall, a very nice Black IPA that shows a lot of depth, tons of flavour, and a rich finish, all packed inside a nice tallboy can. I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 27-May-2016 for US$3,99 sampled a day later on the roof of my hotel in Lower Manhattan, New York on 28-May-2016.
