750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of Belgian yeast, stone fruits and fruity esters. Flavour is along the same lines, with fruity esters, stone fruits and sweet Belgian yeast. Not an authentic saison by any means. This is really disappointing for Trillium.

750mL bottled 5/25/16, shared with Nelson on 6/5/16.
Large, rocky, white head tops a mildly-to-moderately hazy copper-tinted, golden body. Retention is moderately strong to strong.
The first couple whiffs from the glass seem to suggest a very fruity, mildly juicy hop profile full of well-done amarillo notes; lime, guava, strawberry, wood, tangerine, lemon, etc...But, rather quickly the Belgian yeast they use asserts itself, adding its signature powdery-hot, messy ester profile of overripe peach, table sugar, spoiled nectarine, etc...As it progresses, this becomes more dominant. Biscuits, cracker, honey can be found in the background. Light alcohol sharpness on the nose.
The messy esters and light saccharine-like character is even more prominent in the flavor and the citrusy edge that the hops provide, with moderate bitterness, doesn’t particularly complement it, but seems to just exacerbate things. Carbonation is tight, at least and the texture, while not as softly-malted as the pale ales/IPAs, is still reasonable. Too much saccharine building up on the finish (light cotton candy and peach). Some alcohol noted.

Bottle shared at Kernel Brewery at Zwanze Dat 20/09/2014. Thanks to Mike. Aroma is nice floral, light citrus hops, sunflower seeds, honey and a little leather? Translucent golden / yellow / straw coloured pour with a lasting thin white head. Flavour is composed of honey, seeds, nice apricot and mango fruits. Bit of heather floral as well. Palate is highish carbonation, melts on the the tongue. Very tasty.
