The first beer in our Lager program.
Brewed with Pilsner and Munich malts, fermented with our house lager yeast, and conditioned at near freezing temperatures in one of our horizontal fermentation vessels.
Hopped with Maine Sterling hops from The Hop Yard, as well as Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Lemondrop hops.

Poours a nice gold from Jeffrey. Some spice and hop character. Pretty good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold with medium spotty white head. The aroma is toasted malt and wheat. Slick body, bready, toast, light dry finish, good.

Draught at the brewery, 12/22 and 12/29/17.
Quite hazy, probably too much so with a small amount of white head that recedes quickly to nothing. Soapy-lemon notes in the nose with a big floral character, as well. Quite delicate and seemingly very "dry" from the nose, with little malt to speak of. No alcohol or flaw, but a little concerned with the soap-like notes.
In the mouth it tastes of bitter bath soap moving to an over-hopped, astringent finish. Drier than Precept with a well-malted texture and clean, with no alcohol, but what the fuck is going on with all of this soapy, astringent, intensely bitter hop trub-like character? A week later, it had softened somewhat, and didn't come off overly soapy or nearly as bitter, but it should never have been served so young in the first place.

Draft at Bissell. Cloudy in appearance. The flavor and aroma certainly is German influenced. Gosh, a lot of yeast presence, spicey black pepper, doughy, lemon seeds. Ilike that the brewer tried something that was not an IPA. This is almost a Zwickel / landbier but the yeast is slightly off. Texture is extremely chewy and thick. Chunky... I do like the attempt.
