On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with small off white head. The aroma is bready malt and raisin. Medium body, raisin, licorice, light finish, good.

Chestnut, murky though. Nutty nose with slight tartness. Thin, bland, touch of tartness and none of the beautiful malts you want in a mild. Bleh

Draught at the brewery, 6/23/17.
Dark mahogany with lighter chestnut and tan hues when held to the light. Good clarity and a dark beige head atop showing moderate retention.
Light tobacco mixes quickly with rich brown bread and honey, as a moderately spicy hop character unfolds, as well. Fresh house yeast provides plentiful esters/phenols and a long, nutty, finish, highlighted, but not dominated by specialty malts, ensues. No alcohol or flaw.
Soft and malty with light honey and mild caramel sweetness up front turning to a more grainy, dry character through the middle, picking up brown bread, crust and light chocolate. Light buttercream and sweet, nutty notes reprise the finish, with fruity and spicy hop notes adding gentle, balancing bitterness, while fresh yeast lingers pleasantly on. Clean, crisp, surprisingly quenching for a (mostly) malty, dark beer. The dryness and restraint on the specialty malts really works wonders here.
