On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is rye and toasted malt. Light body, bready malt, raisin, light dry finish, good.

Sample at GABF 10/07/2017, thanks to my bro for assistance with note-taking. Cloudy mahogany color with a medium beige head that recedes gradually. Sparse strings of lace. Aroma of rye, fruit and hops. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, spicy rye and earthy hop. The finish is mildly spicy rye and malt. Decent overall.

Draught at the brewery. Amber-brown. Bright. No head. Malty, but not bringing the liquid bread aspect. Flabby, one-dimensional bock...no sense of what makes bock great exhibited here.

Draught at the brewery, 6/23/17.
Dark mahogany with rich chestnut-auburn hues throughout, a good clarity and a beige head atop that shows moderate retention.
Quite malt-forward, as one would expect though with a spiciness from both rye and hop that helps balance the rich brown bread, caramel and light toffee. Good melanoidins, as well, producing fruitiness and adding more balance to the beer. Clean and with no alcohol showing through.
Rich and malty, yet properly attenuated, the texture is soft and shows very little sign of any specialty malt (or bagel?). Spicy rye, nuttiness and fresh brown bread all emerge from strong caramel and honey sweetness to linger gently on the finish that shows light acidity from malt and hop with low floral notes from the hops, as well. Carbonation is low but engaging and there’s no flaw or alcohol. Sourdough-like character builds up to a good degree, as the glass gets low.
